My Approach

My Theoretical Orientation as a counselor is the eclectic approach to therapy, which uses techniques drawn from several different schools of thought, which have been supported through research, (e.g. Cognitive Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, CBT/DBT, Client Centered Therapy, and Family System Therapy). I believe each individual comes to therapy with their own experiences and set of goals, values, morals, personality, educational and religious experiences, and there is no one size fits all approach to the human experience. My counseling approach also uses the stages of change in helping the addicted individual achieve their goal in reaching sobriety. Motivational interviewing is used and is a  collaborative goal oriented method between me the counselor, and you the client to communicate in a cohesive manner to guide you toward change and a more productive and healthy life.
